Group exercise classes currently take place via Zoom throughout the week for people with a diagnosis of Parkinsons.
Classes are informed by the latest research and strive to positively combat symptoms. Following diagnosis, people are told to “stay active” however it is difficult to know exactly what to do.
At Box Positive each exercise or activity is clinically reasoned to target various motor and non-motor symptoms. Charles aims to maximise a person's ability to carry out everyday tasks independently. Exercises are graded to the person’s ability and can be completed from seated or standing. Sessions are goal directed and performance is measured so that people can monitor their own progress each week.
The classes are both physically and cognitively challenging, but laughter and fun is key! Charles also offers 1-1 Zoom sessions, sessions can therefore be specifically tailored to combat specific symptoms.
Can I complete exercises from seated?
Yes and alternative exercises are given for people that find transferring from seated to standing challenging. Classes are inclusive and welcome to all people with Parkinson's. There are also options to complete seated, chair based exercise groups.
