Train with Box POsitive

Boxing and fitness coaching in Worcestershire, led by former British champion England boxer, specialised as an Neurological Occupational Therapist and now Clinical Exercise Specialist.

Hi, I’m Charles Delve

clinical exercise specialist

At Box Positive the aim is to enhance people’s physical and mental well being through engagement in exercise that is tailored to their needs in a supportive and fun environment.

Boxing classes / coaching

We offer boxing classes in groups or 1-1 in Droitwich for a range of goals from fitness to symptoms associated with a range of health conditions. Charles has been coaching boxing for over 18 years and has worked with people of all abilities.

Weight Training

Not just boxing! Resistance exercise has been proven to be one of the most productive ways to achieve health and fitness goals. Whether you are an athlete looking to enhance components of fitness or someone living with a chronic health condition programming is tailored around individual goals.

Exercise Programs

Engagement is key so people can get the results they want. Programmes are built collaboratively with clients.

My Approach

My  approach is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: focus on what you can do. Every person I work with brings their own strengths, and my role is to help them recognise and build on those — not to define them by their diagnosis or limitations.

Boxing achievements:

– Junior ABA Light Heavyweight Champion

– British U19 Light Heavyweight Champion

– British Universities Open Class Light Heavyweight Champion

– Midlands Senior ABA Champion

– Boxed for England and held wins over Commonwealth Youth & Canadian Champion and German Champion.

– Sparring Partner for world Champions Tony Bellew and Nathan Cleverly

– Former Head Coach at Droitwich ABC

My journey began long before I entered formal healthcare. Whilst competing as a boxer I started working with young people in schools, pupil referral units, and community centres — and it was here that I first witnessed the transformative impact that non-contact boxing could have on people’s confidence, wellbeing, and sense of self. That experience gave me a clear goal: to bring this approach into healthcare and use it to genuinely help people manage their conditions and live fuller lives.

I went on to gain a national diploma in sports science, a HND in psychology and counselling, and ultimately qualified as an Occupational Therapist. Working across a range of settings — including acquired and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, MSK, neuropsychiatry, forensic mental health, and community reablement — I supported people to overcome barriers, maximise independence, and achieve meaningful goals alongside experienced multidisciplinary teams.

Formal healthcare, however, never felt like the right fit. The red tape and rigid structures made it difficult to take a truly person-centred approach — and that matters enormously to me. At Box Positive, I have the freedom to work entirely in my clients’ best interests, without compromise. Everything I do is shaped around the individual, with one goal in mind: helping them achieve the best possible outcome.

I have recently joined Box Positive. I find the instructor excellent. He is very knowledgeable and supportive as he has a good understanding of both boxing and neurological conditions. It's a lovely friendly group of people who attend and I 100% recommend him.

Charles is incredible, he is so passionate about his work. He has a great teaching manner, his boxfit Parkinson’s sessions are hard but very fun. He takes time to learn about the condition and reflects this in the session, when coaching across all ages and abilities. I would highly recommend giving Box Postive a go. Keep up the good work pal🥊👍

Personal Fitness Trainer, Charles Delve what a difference, a huge thank you for making me feel more energised, determined & enjoyment to finally be working out, really enjoying the combination of boxing & strengh work, I have lost over a stone, toned up & feel energised & in a much happier place. I am not the typical gym person but having PT with Charles motivated me to keep pushing myself, couldn’t recommend enough.

We first met Charles when my mother attended his Parkinson’s boxing group. A few months later, we realised we needed some additional support for my father, who had suffered a further stroke, been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and was discharged from hospital with the expectation that he would be hoist-dependent. We felt strongly that this was not the case and that his potential was being limited by the resource constraints within the hospital. We truly believed that, with the right support, my father could progress further. As a healthcare professional, I see first-hand how individual NHS clinicians genuinely want to help, but the red tape and resource limitations within the system can make them risk-averse and prevent patients—particularly older individuals—from reaching their full potential. Charles now works with my father on a one-to-one basis each week, focusing on improving his flexibility, movement, and confidence as he practises walking again. The carers have already commented on how much stronger he has become and how his walking has improved in such a short time. I’ve also noticed a marked improvement in his mood—he smiles more and genuinely looks forward to his sessions with Charles, whose positivity and willingness to get stuck in make such a difference. Following my father’s progress, my mother has also begun weekly sessions with Charles to help manage her Parkinson’s, improve her strength and flexibility, and reduce her risk of falls, especially given some residual weakness following a hip replacement. My sister and I feel a huge sense of relief knowing that we have Charles on our team. I am extremely grateful for his support and would 100% recommend him—money very well spent.

Charles has been been coming weekly to my husband on a 1:1 basis for a few weeks now and we are both finding great benefits from the visits. My husband has had Parkinsons disease for 15 years and dementia for 5 years. He was able to go to Box Positive and participate and join in with others but is no longer able to do this due to his cognitive decline. Charles shows patience, understanding and professionalism. He has given me useful tips for when my husband freezes and I can see an improvement in his physical and mental wellbeing. The exercises are varied and suit my husbands needs. He always looks forward to seeing Charles as it gives him a sense of purpose and lifts his mood .

Charles had been exceptional in training my father in both private sessions and group classes. The training has helped with his balance, coordination and provided him with an outlet for the emotional stress faced when battling this horrid disease. Fantastic and extremely knowledgeable trainer that I would recommend to all.

Charles has been incredible with my father who has advanced Parkinson’s and 83 years old. We were told that there wasn’t anything we could do to improve my father’s quality of life. How wrong was that advice. With Charles’ expert knowledge and experience coupled with his courtesy calm manner, my father has improved his mobility significantly. My father feels he has hope again and now able to fed himself due to the dramatic improvement of his posture. Charles goes the extra mile and shows genuine care with his clients. The cost of Charles’ services is very reasonable. I would highly recommend Charles. Thank you Charles from the Evans family, we are incredibly grateful.
